Strong names in Euro RX 2020

Already in two months most of the rallycross series in Europe begins. The first round of Euro RX and World RX in 2020 will take place on April 18. The drivers who will take part in the full season of the World Rallycross Championships are still unknown. However, information about great drivers who will start in the 2020 season in the FIA European Rallycross Championship has started to appear . Will Euro RX 2020 be more interesting than World RX this year?

Kevin Abbring will compete in a full-season campaign with the French GCK RX team in the FIA European Rallycross Championship, driving a newly developed Renault Clio RS RX. We keep our fingers crossed to see this great driver in World RX next year!

Philip Gehrman, a regular driver last year in RallyX Nordic, will step-up to a full-season campaign in the FIA European Rallycross Championship. Gehrman who has previously raced in Euro RX in a Volkswagen Beetle from Eklund Motorsport will this season enter in his own ex-Kristoffersson Motorsport built Volkswagen Polo supercar.

25-year-old Norwegian RX2 International Series superstar Ben-Philip Gundersen will step-up to the FIA European Rallycross Championship this year with the JC Raceteknik squad from Sweden but this time in a 600bhp Supercar. Gundersen has had many strong results and in 2016 he took the championship title in the Euro RX TouringCar class. Now Gundersen will be take the step-up in his career and will be driving one of the team’s Audi S1 Supercars.

Andreas Carlsson, a regular driver in RallyX Nordic is now aiming to do a full-season campaign in the FIA European Rallycross Championship in his home-built Renault Clio supercar this year.

Jan Cerny debut in S1600 – Euro RX 2020

Experienced Czech Republic rally driver Jan Cerny has signed with Pajr Motorsport to race in the FIA European Rallycross Championship for Super1600 this year. Formerly a front running R2 specification rally driver, Cerny won events in a Skoda Fabia R5 in the Czech Republic in 2019. Before his rally career, Cerny began his junior career in rallycross and he will race a Skoda Citigo for his 2020 RX season.

I have been watching World and European rallycross for a long time, this season I will have a front row seat thanks to a co-operation with the Pajr Motorsport team. I got a great offer to participate in the European Rallycross Championship in Super 1600, and I didn’t have to think a minute. I am really looking forward to this new co-operation – the whole project is a huge challenge for me” Cerny said.
