Kristoffersson’s return: facts and myths

Before the start of the season there were a lot of rumors, guesses and not necessarily correct statements about the return of Johann Kristoffersson to the FIA World Rallycross Championship in 2020. In this article, we will try to refer to all this information and write what is true and what is false. The main thing is that World Champion 2017 & 2018 is back to World RX!

TRUE: Johan Kristoffersson returns to World RX for 2020 season.

FALSE: Johan Kristoffersson will take part in several World RX rounds instead of the entire season.
The main goal is to win the World Championship and start in all rounds of the season.

TRUE: Johan will drive the Volkswagen Polo GTI in the specifications of the World Rallycross Championship.

FALSE: Johan Kristoffersson will share the car with Sondre Evjen.
True: In five of the 10 races there will be only one car in Volkswagen Dealerteam BAUHAUS, but when Euro RX is run there will be two cars.

FALSE: Johan Kristoffersson will compete in the PSRX team.
True: His World RX’ team name is Volkswagen Dealerteam BAUHAUS.

FALSE: The Volkswagen Motorsport mechanics team will full service the car.
True: Kristoffersson Motorsport is responsible for car service. But they will be also buying some services from Volkswagen Motorsport.
